The Internet has become the backbone of communication, commerce, etc. It is now now part of everyday life.
Based on readings for this week about Personal Learning Networks and our network interactions on and offline, individuals has been more connected to each other under their Digital Identity.
Digital identity is a way to verify who we are online securely, in a manner that offers data protection on our personal information.

How do personal versus professional approaches to digital identity affect
social media use?
In personal use, we will provide more information about our lives. In professional digital identities, we are active with people who may bring us career opportunities, rather than those who have only the same interests. We are in professional digital identity. Base on Davos 2019 – Press Conference, countries implementing “good” use of digital identity could create economic value equivalent to 3-6 percent of GDP on average by 2030. To unlock that potential, we need to create a shared definition and standards that ensure digital identity is safe, secure and respectful of privacy and other fundamental rights.
How do digital identities converge in networked publics – what are the
impacts and/or benefits?
Digital identities converge in networked publics as they discuss, post, and share the issues they consider important. Network has become the public spaces for communication. One major benefit of this convergence is that it allows people to seize existing opportunities. On the other hand, the existence of these identities in one place exposes personal data to theft and misuse.

Hi Mahi,
I really liked how easy it was to navigate your site. Secondly, I totally agree with the approach to digital identity and how they help connect us be active with like-minded people that can help us bring career opportunities. I believe it is all about how we network – it’s the best way to create relationships that can help us level up all thanks to how we use social media and whom we choose to connect ourselves with whilst being mindful of the safety and security provided with all these platforms.

Thank you Tania, happy to hear that! I agree that we should consider the safety of the platforms, but how do you propose to do so? I mean if we keep in mind that there should not be any invasion of privacy of the users, how we can stay safe?
